This is a blog about life. More specifically, my life and the exhausting amount of energy I spend trying to make sense of it.

My Lunch @ the Sun Dial Restaurant
Recently, I was attending a conference and had an opportunity to dine at the Sun Dial Restaurant. I truly had no idea what to expect but had heard some good things about the view. Well, the things I heard were definitely an understatement. I have never felt such perfect peace. The view was unbelievable. However, the fact that I was alone permitted me to be still in the moment. I could just gaze out the window and just be. As I sat there having my lunch, I began to wonder how can I capture this peace more often. While I still don’t have an answer, I feel so blessed to know it exists. If you are ever in Atlanta, I strongly recommend you eat at the Sun Dial. In the meantime, have you ever experienced perfect peace and if so, when?

I definitely have to check out the Sun Dial. Oh yes, I have experienced perfect peace. When I studied abroad in Spain I had a lot of time just to be with myself. It's amazing how just having 5 minutes of peace and quiet with yourself can really transform your state of mind.
I necer knew ATL had such a great place. Maybe next time I visit, I'll beg hubs to take me there!
Yes girl I have been to that one. And we took the elevator with the "scenic" route up there too (I believe that is the only way to get up there right?"
And I am already afraid of heights!!! Ugh! Once I got over my fear though I enjoyed myself. Great drinks and good food. I was with my girls and we were a little tipsy. We had one girl stand on the outer moving part with a camera and the rest of us ran around the non-moving section striking poses and trying to keep up with the camera. LMAO!
Speaking of peace, that is something I plan on doing more often. I have dedicated half of one of my rooms in my new house to meditating and quiet. Going to listen to my meditation cds, light some candles, and zone out.
I can't wait!
I have relatives in Atlanta -- I'll have to check out the Sun Dial next time I visit! Thanks for the tip.
Okay, totally jealous of you! In all of my 14 years here in the ATL, I have never eaten at The Sundial. Made an attempt once but it didnt work out. Glad you enjoyed yourself!
Yes, I loved the Sun Dial! The view alone is wonderful! After a friend told me about it, I took everyone I knew there to celebrate any occasion! LOL It's nice to see Atlanta from above. :) As for peace, I love it... I find it all the time, even if I'm just taking a few minutes to deep breathe, and relax during the day. But, the first time I remember experiencing peace was when I was walking down a dirt road in Maseru, Lesotho. I realized life was too beautiful to rush, and not enjoy each moment. That was my life changing moment.
One of these days I will check it out. My brother went to the Sun Dial when he came down down fron Pittsburgh. He said that it was an experience. Great Blog.

I have lived in Atlanta almost 10 years and I have never been there. I will make it a point to make sure I get there soon.

i have perhaps experienced no peace as genuine as sitting/standing on the coastline and looking out into the vastness of the ocean
